While The Bombs Fell is a collection of short stories and memoirs written by Elsie when she was a little girl . The story was based in England during World War II . She recounts how harrowing life was during that time as a child growing up during world War II . The book was well written and very descriptive. The moral of the story was it did not matter how harrowing an ordeal the war was. While wearing gas masks,the sounds of air raids, and sounds of the bombs took a toll on her childhood. She and her family just accepted it and knew the war would end soon and that their were better days ahead .So, because of that her childhood and life as she knew it continued on.
